(1) What are people reading?
I finished two books about forensic analysis and profiling; these were by John Douglas and Russell Vorpagel, two of the founders of FBI profiling instruction in Quantico. Fascinating. I also finished Uncle John's Triumphant 20th Anniversary Bathroom Reader. Lotsa fun. Now I'm reading an anthology of "true crime writing" edited by Jonathan Goodman, who can't write clearly, entitled "Masterpieces of Murder", containing short stories by reporters and forensic analysts and police detectives, all of whom can indeed write clearly. I reread all my Dr. Hessayon Expert Gardener books, so I'll next be looking in the local used bookstore for something funnier. Got any suggestions for good humourous reads?

(2) Besides fighting an extra-long winter -- but I read somewhere that NYC recently had 78 degrees F?! -- what are people doing with their lives? Anyone about to graduate.../...wed.../...divorce.../...have a baby.../...change jobs or careers.../...move out of state or country.../...travel somewhere fun? Or whatever?!

Husband and I are spending two weeks, tops, for yet another of his family reunions in Saskatchewan this July. Has anyone else out there married French?! My goodness, they do have continuous excuses for gathering their DNA-replicants together for more parties with musical spoon-whacking, pig roasting, card tournamenting, jig-dancing, and updating each other about who's recently dead or pregnant. In 16 years of marriage we haven't once been to Yugoslavia (or California or Oregon or Australia or Chile or Argentina) to meet with *MY* relatives. Grrrr. And we elected to go to Hawaii again this past January, so there went our Europe savings. :-( (But I adore Hawaii.)

So I'm now planning for Europe in either May or September 2009. Hopefully it will be in May so I can catch the last of the tulips in Netherlands. I told the Husband if he doesn't come with me, too bad, I'm going by myself, and he won't even receive a postcard. Muhahahaha.

Now it's you guys's turns. What are you all up to? As we Canadians put it: How's it going eh?

xoxoxo Ruth.
