I am just a shepherd
And my story's often told
I have pledged to fight the Dark One
And my head is full of mumbles from a crazy man
He won't shut up
And I don't know if it's really him
Or just me going nuts
 
When I left my home in Emond's Field
I was no more than a boy
In the company of gleemen
And a warder with a pushy Aes Sedai as well
Pattern Torn
Seeking out the Eye of the World where the Nym protects the Horn
Then I found that I was the Dragon Reborn

Ruling over the entire land
Is something of a pain
And I just don't want to
I just want to fight the Dark One, get it over with
Prophecies say
That I'm going to die at Shayol Ghul and "twice will dawn the day"
 
And I'm praying now that Logain
Has found his way to Tear
To the Stone
Where Callandor is waiting for his hand to grasp
And at last
He'll kick Taim's ass
 
In my head there lives the Dragon
And Lews Therin is his name
And he constantly reminds me
Of what can happen if you aren't careful, then he cries out
In his anger and his shame
Light, Ilyena! No, Ilyena!
And he slowly fades away
